New England Ice Storm - Millions Without Power!

The storm brought rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow through Thursday night, and in some areas the miserable mix was continuing Friday. For New Hampshire, the power outages dwarfed those during the infamous Ice Storm of '98, when some residents spent more than a week in the dark.

The governors of Mass. and New Hampshire have declared this as a state of emergency. With just about every school closed kids are obviously loving this, except the ones who are want to use the power that used to supply their homes.

Another interesting piece of info I heard about is that most of the court systems have canceled their hearings.

I live in Texas now, but I used to play pro hockey in New England and the weather up there is no joke! Utilities reported 392,000 homes and businesses without power in New Hampshire, including 300,000 served by the state's largest, Public Service Company of New Hampshire. By contrast, the 1998 storm left 55,000 Public Service customers without power.

This New England Ice storm will for sure go down in history and we still have 9 days until winter even starts. we will see how this winter shapes out for us all! Houston even has had snow already and this happens once every 4 or 5 years.
